About The Role

We’re looking for a Events Specialist to work in our Colleague Voice team based at our Office in Bradford.

This role will work on internal communications, event planning and colleague recognition. You’ll plan, draft and refine content to deliver both communications projects and events to support the engagement of colleagues and the business’ key messages.

Some of the responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Work cross-functionally across the team and with key stakeholders to design, develop and deliver engaging events that communicate key messages to a variety of audiences internally and externally.
  • Schedule and coordinate the delivery of the events within the events calendar; from livestreams to external conferences for 2,000 delegates.
  • Manage full end to end delegate management; from registration sites, hotel bookings and joining instructions, to onsite delegate logistics
  • Act as a point of contact for stakeholders across the business requesting or needing events support
  • Adhere to event budgets and maintain budgetary records for each event related activity
  • Prepare reports on performance through appropriate measurement of results
  • Contribute to elements of the quarterly and annual communications plans
  • Need to be flexible and adaptable as travel will be required and working evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays will be part of this role from time to time to help deliver events
  • This is a hybrid role operating over a four day working week. This role is based at our fantastic head office in Bradford. Boasting an on-site canteen, coffee shop, convenience and sample store, multi faith room, free parking and regular company-wide events and promotions. Applicants will be required to work a minimum of three days in the office a week.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

  • Passionate about your role and the part you play in delivering events in line with our core purpose
  • Proven experience in an events role
  • Experience of using Excel and raising purchase orders would be an advantage
  • Project management, good organisation, planning and delivery skills are essential
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritise workload for multiple projects and multi-task in an organised way with a good eye for detail
  • Experience of working with agencies and suppliers
  • Excellent communication capability, including writing, proofreading and presentation skills with ability to adapt for different audiences
  • Ability to think and communicate strategically, and see the wider implications of business and communications activities, and maximise opportunities / manage associated reputational risks as a result
  • The ability to gain feedback from colleagues and customers
  • The ability to create environments where sharing ideas, issues and concerns is the norm
  • A strong reputation for a positive outlook and supporting others to succeed
  • A strong ownership for delivery of the plan and responsibility for making decisions
  • Ability to see the big picture, as well as focus on attention to detail
