Maintenance Engineer - Multi Skilled

Our site in Thrapston has gone through a period of rapid growth over the last 9 months and we’re now grading and packing more fruit and nuts than ever! A huge part of our success over this period is down to our dedicated Engineering Department and we’re currently looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. We have days, nights and continental shifts available.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Manufacturing site through the maintenance, repair, and improvement of our machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

• Work on a variety of machinery such as: flow wrappers, multi-head weighers, grading vision systems, sealing machines and much more
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment, identifying and resolving any potential issues before they cause disruptions
• Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose the problem, and perform repairs or coordinate with external specialists when necessary
• Monitor and calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy, quality, and safety standards are met
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and spare parts inventory
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Stay updated with industry advancements and new technologies relevant to the role

As well as the ability to work at pace, we're also looking for someone who has:

• A recognised engineering qualification (NVQ L3, ONC, BTEC L3 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used within the FMCG industry
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery
• Proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to ensuring the highest levels of equipment reliability
• A good understanding of HACCP principles
