Slaughter Operative - Semi Skilled, Skilled and Fully Skilled

At Morrisons we’re proud to produce high quality meat products for our customers in store and our external partners.  We’re looking for Slaughter Operatives (Semi-Skilled, Skilled and Fully Skilled) at our manufacturing site working in our abattoir, across various levels of skill and experience. Our operatives are multi-skilled across tasks on the slaughter line in line with relevant legal and ethical standards.

Working at pace in a safe, efficient and hygienic manner, you’ll perform a range of complex tasks. Safety is a top priority as you’ll be working with a knife or hand held rotating bladed machine, you’ll be required to complete all relevant health and safety training to make sure that the safest work practices are adhered to.

You’ll be the kind of person who:

• Enjoys working as part of a team

• Has the ability to maintain concentration and quality standards throughout your shift, where tasks are repetitive

• Is able to work in a production environment, standing for up to 8-10 hours per shift and perform a range of physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing and pulling

• Is willing to work in an abattoir environment in proximity to raw meat, blood and carcasses and in varying temperatures. Full personal protective equipment is provided and must be worn at all times.
