About The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, the Commercial Finance Accountant is responsible for providing financial expertise to support and challenge the Commercial Teams to deliver profitable growth for Morrisons

 

Key responsibilities include

 

  • Supporting decision making through delivering accurate analysis and insight
  • Evaluating results to ensure there is clear understanding of business performance
  • Completing period end activities (Stock, supplier income etc )
  • Participating in the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts
  • Play a key role in developing and following up on ‘gap closing’ activities to ensure performance is delivered in line with expectations
  • Maintain accurate supplier income agreements including ensuring correct accounting treatment
  • Identifying and Implementing improvements to ways of working within the Commercial Finance Teams
  • Evaluating and challenging new product launches, promotional activities new proposals/existing business to ensure profitability
  • Participate in cross functional project groups
  • Providing ad hoc Finance support

 

About You

Role Specific Knowledge, skills and experience

 

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with a good foundation in either Management or Financial Accounting. Previous commercial experience and a good appreciation of information systems is desirable although not essential
