Each product group will have an annual review which is an opportunity to ‘Reset’ the range to ensure it really delivers the best offer for our customers, whilst driving the best possible commercial results for our business.

  • This role will cover the analysis of recent performance of each product group, along with providing insight and challenge to enable the Business Teams to identify opportunities for improvement. The scope covers both the P&L trading performance (availability, sales, margin) and the working capital elements of the range performance, and has both a strategic and operational focus to it.

  • The role is a stakeholder facing role, and a large part of the working week will be meeting with buyers and other colleagues involved with range, customer and performance. You will need to be able to analyse the data, understand and articulate complex messages in a clear manner, and be able to develop positive relationships with all colleagues with a touchpoint to the range reset process.
  • The role sits within our Central Commercial Finance Team, as such you will be close to the overall corporate plan and direction of the business. You will be involved with other tasks to provide insight, assist with period end management information and other ad hoc projects.
About You
  • A great understanding of how sales, margin rate and cash can be delivered through business change, with experience in a previous commercial role.
  • Resilience, Attention to detail and an ability to deliver in a complex, fast paced environment. Able to prioritise to meet deadlines. You will have a positive approach and a can do attitude.
  • Good verbal communication skills, ability to articulate financial data in a clear and transparent way
  • Excellent analytical thinking and numerical skills, combined with an ability to see the bigger picture and consider multiple scenarios / options.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel or Google sheets skills required. Working knowledge of Oracle accounting software and databases would be an advantage.
  • A professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) along with a working knowledge of financial and management accounting.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and across different teams within a large business.
