About The Role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant in our Central Manufacturing team to join our Finance team who are based at our Head Office in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

This role will support the consolidation and production of weekly and periodic management reporting for our Manufacturing division - covering 19 sites.

The role will act as point of contact for the site based Finance teams and support the reporting process.

The role also assists in ad-hoc analysis, budgeting and transfer pricing.

As an Assistant Accountant, Central manufacturing you’ll be responsible for:
  • Preparing consolidated weekly performance reporting for our Manufacturing division - working closely with site based and central accounting teams.
  • Supporting the team in preparing monthly management accounts, in line with role requirements.
  • Assisting in ad-hoc analysis to support decision making by operational stakeholders.
  • Supporting the team with budgeting and transfer pricing processes - including helping to coordinate the inputs required from site based colleagues.
  • Identifying ways to make an impact for stakeholders and respond to them on a timely basis.
  • Providing and communicating financial information as required. Developing and maintaining relationships with other teams across the business to understand and meet their needs; driving a culture of teamwork across the function.
  • Generating ideas for improvements in line with the task specific areas of your role.
About You

You’ll ideally have the following skilss and experience:

This role would suit someone who is part-qualified and currently working towards a professional qualification (CIMA / ACA / ACCA / AAT).
 
Experience working as an Assistant Accountant either in practice or a large and fast paced organisation.
 
  • Knowledge of financial accounting. Excellent written communication and planning skills Working knowledge of Oracle would be preferable. Proficient analytical and numerical skills.
  • Experience working as an Assistant Accountant either in practice or a large and fast paced organisation.
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to build good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the business.
  • A self motivated individual with experience of delivering to deadlines.

New Ways of Working
The wellbeing of our colleagues is really important to us and we want everyone to have a great home and work life balance. Because of this we've introduced a four day working week for all full time colleagues based at our head office in Bradford.
You’ll be able to flex your working hours around the core hours of 10am-4pm, and can choose to do different hours each day as long as you’re covering these core hours. Each four day week will contain four average nine hour days.
To be more competitive and support our stores and sites more effectively, we now work over a six day operation, Monday to Saturday inclusive, and everyone in our head office now works one Saturday in every four (or 13 a year), albeit Saturday will be a shorter working day of 6 hours.
