About The Role

Purpose of the role is to take ownership of the understanding, completion and improvement of the store cash processes through line management of a small team, analysis of the store cash outputs and project management and convey this effectively to the finance manager (and other senior stakeholders). The role is critical to ensuring the integrity of the entire store cash cycle including cash receivables into stores, the settlement of banking and reconciliation of cash to sales.

There will be the expectation for you to support the finance manager across the wider team by attending meetings and conducting balance sheet reviews in their stead.

This area of the business is currently under continual review as our business needs change, which presents a variety of challenges. You must possess the ability to manage the workload across a diverse team that is fragmented due to presence both on and off shore. There is a proportion of the role (40%) that will require deep dive investigation in order to drive future business decisions and aid in root cause analysis. 

You will be an ambassador for improvement through the use of Alteryx to streamline time consuming tasks across Finance and heavily focused on the development of your team

You'll be expected to manage:

Customer

● Support the team with queries from stores and 3rd party queries

● Suggest continuous improvement ideas to ensure that stakeholders’ requirements are fully met and /or exceeded

● Retain a customer focus through all routines

● Participate in projects, driving improving business processes and procedures.

● Provide, interpret and communicate financial information as required.

● Take responsibility for cultivating positive working relationships with key business stakeholders and finance department peers and seniors

● Conduct variance analysis, trending techniques and financial reviews

● Generate ideas for improvement in line with strategic and management areas of your role.

About You
You'll ideally have experience in: 

Knowledge

  • Alteryx
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and Google equivalents
  • Oracle Experience
  • Basic SQL Knowledge
  • CIMA or equivalent

Skills

This person will be well organised, with high levels of quality and accuracy in their work. They will need good attention to detail and be flexible in their approach. The need to be able to understand and articulate complex processes to a variety of finance and non-finance colleagues including own team and key internal and external stakeholders. You must have a proactive approach and the drive to resolve issues individually and through others. You must be competent on Microsoft Office (and Google equivalents), SQL and Oracle with the ability to handle challenges with a ‘can do attitude’

New Ways of Working
The wellbeing of our colleagues is really important to us and we want everyone to have a great home and work life balance. Because of this we've introduced a four day working week for all full time colleagues based at our head office in Bradford.
You’ll be able to flex your working hours around the core hours of 10am-4pm, and can choose to do different hours each day as long as you’re covering these core hours. Each four day week will contain four average nine hour days.
To be more competitive and support our stores and sites more effectively, we now work over a six day operation, Monday to Saturday inclusive, and everyone in our head office now works one Saturday in every four (or 13 a year), albeit Saturday will be a shorter working day of 6 hours.
