About The Role

Together we’re a team of 450 people who decide what we sell and at what price. We negotiate deals with suppliers. We listen to what brands and products our customers want. And we look for the best local produce, tracking down products around the world to meet constantly changing tastes. Own brands. Value brands. Global brands. We take great pride in them all. 
We work in embedded business teams, so our Buyers sit with their supply chain, finance and technical counterparts, working alongside each other to make decisions and take action quickly. We even have joint targets so that we’re unified in our mission to serve the customer. 
You will support Buyers to deliver exceptional, customer-led ranges which drive sales and margin.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Supporting the buying team by owning all the administrative tasks
  • Making sure the right information is available in the right place at the right time to make things simpler for our colleagues
  • Creation of invoices and management of invoice queries
  • Providing store bulletins on products and promotions
  • Dealing with store and support queries
  • Maintaining up to date files
  •  Email and telephone management
About You
So that you are set for success, we are looking for a self-starter, who is a great communicator with the ability to influence at all levels. You will work as part of a versatile team with a can-do culture, so it’s important that you are tenacious and strive for excellence. 
  • Ability to manage multiple requirements to short timescales, with a desire to give excellent customer service
  • A strong desire and passion to pursue a career in Buying
  • Good attention to detail with a persistent and positive attitude 
  • Self motivated with a strong ability to plan and organise
  • Good commercial and financial understanding and experience with strong numerical ability
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively whether face to face, telephone or email
  • Ability to analyse complex data 
  • Confident with an ability to use initiative and seek out solutions

Ways of working
The wellbeing of our colleagues is really important to us and we want everyone to have a great home and work life balance. Because of this we've introduced a four day working week for all full time colleagues based at Hilmore House in Bradford.
You’ll be able to flex your working hours around the core hours of 10am-4pm, and can choose to do different hours each day as long as you’re covering these core hours. Each four day week will contain four average nine hour days.
We've also recognised the benefits of working across six days including Saturdays. To be more competitive and support our stores and sites more effectively, we now work over a six day operation, Monday to Saturday inclusive, and everyone in Hilmore House now works one Saturday in every four (or 13 a year), albeit Saturday will be a shorter working day of 6 hours.
