Engineering Stock Controller - Flaxby

About The Role

As a core member of the Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing the site materials management process, resulting in an optimised inventory holding which is available to staff on demand, to the correct specification and quality standards, controlled through a rigorous spares issue and receipt process. Specifically you will:

  • Establish a controlled process for stock movements (issue & receipt) from held inventory, resulting in proven stock accuracy. 
  • Maintain the specification (Quality & Quantity) of stores stock, matched to business criticality and replenishment lead times.
  • Organise the layout of the Engineering Stores, using Lean 5S, ensuring that inventory can be located within 90 seconds
  • Progressively reduced held inventory through consignment arrangements, obsolescence reviews and common part types.
  • Prepare planned preventive kit lists, made available for engineers in advance of planned activity through a clear process
  • Act with integrity to build a professional engineering culture focused on proactive equipment improvement
Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday (Days) - 5 over 7 (occasional weekend shift)

About You
As well as having the ability to work at pace, you will also have:
  • You will have experience in management of detailed inventories using computerised systems 
  • You’ll possess excellent analytical and decision making abilities
  • Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Inventory Optimisation/Control experience
  • You will be able to understand engineering terminology and common asset types.
  • Capable of identifying common engineering parts within a food manufacturing environment.
  • You will have broad Knowledge of Food Manufacturing Assets & Food Safety Standards
  • Experience of managing and using Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) Systems
  • Excellent communication skills
