We are recruiting an Online Manager, Routing to be responsible for delivering efficient routing and scheduling of the Morrisons.com delivery fleet which delivers an efficient Drops per Van (DpV) for our Home Delivery operation. The individual will create and lead the DPV Improvement plan, and ensure that the delivery routes ensure optimum usage of our delivery fleet. They will ensure the correct Click and Collect slot profiles are available in the right volume, and in the right stores to satisfy the customer demand profiles.

You'll be responsible for things like this in the role;

  • Cost effective delivery fleet utilisation
  • Optimal drops per van vs delivery on time (Achieve the DPV budget and On Time target)
  • Capacity growth and utilisation
  • Seek Capital Investment (Capex Approval) for initiatives that will allow you to manage and improve our business
  • Ensure customer deliveries are made efficiently
  • Build and maintain strong relationships internally to support logistics operations and with strategic partners (Ocado)
  • Work with the Operations team to ensure projects support the objectives of the wider teams
  • Manage the communication of activities and projects to wider leadership and online team
  • Strong relationships with key Morrisons and fulfilment partner stakeholders
  • Design and deliver new operational processes and procedures in addition to improving the existing procedures
  • Use order and drops per van forecasts to model routing, shift and fleet requirements
About You
You’ll need skills and experience like this to be a success:
  • Experience of optimisation of routing in online operations
  • Experience in last mile, home delivery and understanding of store operations/click or collect
  • Retail and online customer experience and process
  • Project Management will have led projects that supported operational efficiency and improve profitability
  • Commercially led decision making and prioritisation
  • Process improvement methods
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, able to make recommendations from complex data
  • Working in a pressured environment, able to make quick decisions
  • Capacity planning and forecasting methodologies
  • Proven process improvement

Ways of Working 

The role is a part time 20 hour contract. The individual will work two days during the week (Monday & Thursday but there is some flexibility and this can be discussed at interview stage with the hiring manager) You’ll be able to flex your working hours around the core hours of 10am-4pm. We've also recognised the benefits of working across six days including Saturdays. To be more competitive and support our stores and sites more effectively, we now work over a six day operation. This role will work 7 Saturdays a year, albeit Saturday will be a shorter working day of 6 hours.
