About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our External Reporting team. Our External Reporting team manage and produce the external financial accounts for the PLC and the Groups subsidiaries, produce accurate and timely financial information on a periodic basis for management reporting as well as maintain and improve financial control and protection of the balance sheet position. 

You'll be accountable for:

  • Statutory account preparation.

  • Leading a small team of Finance professionals; providing direction and development to direct reports, managing performance and prioritising deliverables.

  • Producing high quality papers for the Audit Committee and the Board.

  • Inputting into annual business plans and improvement programmes for Finance.

  • Improving processes and outputs through simplifying tasks.  

About You

You'll ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • You’ll be a qualified Accountant through either CIMA, ACA or ACCA.

  • You'll ideally be practice trained or have experience working as a Finance Manager in a large and complex organisation. 

  • Significant IFRS and UK GAAP experience.

  • Recent experience of working in an external reporting environment.

  • Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting requirements for listed entities. 

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the business.

New Ways of Working

The wellbeing of our colleagues is really important to us and we want everyone to have a great home and work life balance. Because of this we've introduced a four day working week for all full time colleagues based at our head office in Bradford.

You’ll be able to flex your working hours around the core hours of 10am-4pm, and can choose to do different hours each day as long as you’re covering these core hours. Each four day week will contain four average nine hour days.

To be more competitive and support our stores and sites more effectively, we now work over a six day operation, Monday to Saturday inclusive, and everyone in our head office now works one Saturday in every four (or 13 a year), albeit Saturday will be a shorter working day of 6 hours.
