About The Role

We’ve got a great opportunity to join our technology team based at our support centre in Bradford, West Yorkshire. It's a fantastic time to join this great fast paced work environment as we continue to play our part in feeding the nation.

You’ll be responsible for assisting the Capacity and Disaster Recovery Manager in ensuring that services and infrastructure are able to deliver the agreed capacity and performance targets in a cost effective and timely manner. You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of Disaster Recovery plans and supporting the domain teams in testing against the plans, producing status reports to Senior Management.

As a Capacity and Disaster Recovery Specialist you’ll get involved in things like:

  • Review and Impact Change Requests with attendance at CAB as required.

  • Provide advice and guidance on all capacity and performance-related activities, assist with the diagnosis and resolution of related Incidents and Problems and propose proactive performance improvements where these are cost-justifiable.

  • Provide guidance as required to Testing Quality Assurance to ensure Capacity Management is fully considered during testing phases (this includes review of test documentation as required).

  • Contribute to meeting service levels by managing the capacity and performance of services and resources.

  • In collaboration with technology teams - collate and maintain monthly and ad-Hoc Capacity Management and Disaster Recovery Reports for Senior Leadership teams

  • In collaboration with Technology Domain Teams – produce and maintain the Technology Capacity and Disaster Recovery Plans

  • Ensure Morrisons Capacity Management and Disaster Recovery Policies and Procedures are adhered to and report non-compliance to the Senior Service Portfolio and Capacity and Disaster Recovery Managers

  • Make recommendations to improve existing or additional Capacity Management Processes

  • Work across all technology teams to ensure changes (both in demand and functional) are impacted across the whole of Morrisons

  • By proactive management, and adherence to process, ensure that capacity management is applied in all areas of the Service Life Cycle.

  • Help to ensure that Capacity Management is fully integrated with all areas of Service Management

  • Help drive improvements in capacity tooling

  • Provide cover for Capacity Manager as required
