About The Role

We are currently looking for a VMU Team Manager at our Gadbrook Park Distribution Centre in Northwich. The successful candidates will report to the VMU Workshop Manager and will be responsible for leading their team to successfully deliver KPIs and drive business performance.

This is a full time position, on Nights.

As a VMU Team Manager at Morrisons you will do the following:

  • Monitoring and driving KPIs in both RGV &  MHE
  • Taking action to ensure KPI's are met
  • Setting performance targets and reviewing progress
  • Looking for solutions to operational problems
  • Spotting and developing talent in your team through coaching and guidance
  • Regular communication with all levels of the business
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
  • Able to make sound engineering decisions based on a proven knowledge of the industry'
  • 'Full understanding of Road Transport Legislation & LOLER'
  • 'Ideally should be qualified to a minimum level 3 Engineering qualification'
  • 'Clean HGV CAT C+E licence with current DCPC
  • A good understanding of the retail distribution environment
  • Management experience gained in a fast paced VMU environment
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Workshop loading and compliance plans
  • Proven experience in a people management role with the ability to deliver strong results through a team
  • The ability to problem solve, report information/findings, develop recommendations, and implement process changes in order to improve operational performance
  • Knowledge of TRANMAN and ISOTRAK
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills in order to engage, motivate and develop engineering  teams
  • The ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation
