About The Role

We are looking for a Group Facilities Manager to join the team at Morrisons!

This position is a multifaceted role responsible for overseeing and optimizing facilities, services, and utilities maintenance across 17 manufacturing facilities in the UK. 
 
Role Requirements: The role will be field based and is flexible, however, you will be required to travel to our Head Office in Bradford at times.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead the manufacturing group's strategy for utilities, facilities, and welfare asset management. Ensure that these assets support operational goals while maintaining compliance and reliability.
  • Standards and Compliance: Establish and enforce standards and compliance protocols across the manufacturing group. Provide guidance, processes, and work methods to site management teams to ensure safety while performing non-productive asset maintenance.
  • Budget Management: Manage the non-productive asset maintenance budget, which includes Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), remote monitoring, and reactive maintenance/support, with a budget of approximately £10 million OPEX.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management: Foster strong relationships with key partners and suppliers. Negotiate favourable commercial terms, ensure excellent service delivery, and explore innovative maintenance techniques and technologies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with central function leadership teams to drive substantial improvements in non-productive engineering maintenance and performance. Promote engagement, collaboration, and ownership of maintenance processes.
  • Local Engagement: Build and maintain professional relationships with site management teams at each facility. Support and empower local ownership of day-to-day facilities maintenance processes.
  • Coaching and Development: Actively coach, develop, and drive performance within Engineering Management Teams concerning Facilities Management. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

About You

Here's a summary of the qualifications and experiences you will require in this role:
  • Educational Background: A Technical Engineering Degree or equivalent time-served experience, which includes relevant qualifications in Engineering or Facilities Management. 
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
  • Change Management: Experience in change management, particularly in delivering results within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
  • Compliance Knowledge: A thorough understanding of statutory (legal) compliance requirements and obligations, including but not limited to CDM (Construction, Design, and Management Regulations), L8 (Legionella control), SMARS/Ammonia Refrigeration, BOAS (Boiler Operation and Maintenance), PSSR (Pressure Systems Safety Regulations), LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations), DSEAR/ATEX (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations), and Working at Height regulations.
  • Management Experience: Extensive people, process, and engineering management experience in a comparable industry. 
  • Safety Certifications: IOSH and/or NEBOSH accreditation or equivalent training/experience.
  • Legal Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act.
  • Facilities Management: Strong knowledge of facilities management, including budget management and technological innovation. 
  • Collaborative Approach: A team-driven approach to improvement, fostering collaboration and teamwork among staff to achieve common goals.
