About The Role

Our Planning Managers have a big job. Our factories are fast paced, highly demanding and ever-changing. It's their job to own the delivery of Production Planning, Raw Material, Packaging, and purchase order management processes for the site, this role will be responsible for the Warehouse, Dispatch and Yard. Reporting into the Site Manager you will also be responsible for the delivery and understanding of the supply of product into our customers always maximising the profit whilst demonstrating market leader behaviours.

Leading a team of Planners you will also be accountable for:

Delivery of the sites planning KPI’S and planned service levels
Delivery and compliance of attendance, forecast variance and input of Supply and conformance to plan
Delivery of KPI’S to all stakeholders and ensuring that these are understood and drive action to improve either service to our customer or profits to the end to end business
Delivery and development of key meetings with Supply chain/Operations and trading on a daily/weekly basis
Developing and Coaching the team to drive planning process forward and drive improvements via the team
Ensure that all forecasts are relevant and challenged for long term process and short term plan are fit for delivering the customer service and financial targets
Establish and maintain full set of Standard Operating Procedures for the planning team with Measures

About You

As well as strong leadership skills you will also have:

Worked in Supply Chain or as a Manufacturing/ Planning Manager or equivalent, within a fast paced manufacturing environment, ideally within food manufacturing
Strong influencing skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across teams
Fresh Meat and chilled planning experience would be advantageous and you will be experienced in using a planning database with strong IT skills, particularly Excel
Demonstrable experience of delivering strong customer service with the ability to make challenging decisions to ensure consistency with service to our customers
A proven track record of improving planning process via understanding industry best practices and keeping up to date with this
A track record of implementing and improving planning processes and systems to improve service within a Manufacturing to Retail operation is highly desirable
Great leadership skills ensuring your team are striving to exceed expectations, encourage collaborative working, developing talent within your team and creating talent progression maps for future team and site stability

Based on the largest industrial estate in Europe, our Deeside site produces over 1.5 million packs of sliced cooked meats every week.

Here at our 190,000 square foot building, our team of 700 colleagues produces ready to eat chicken, sliced meat and joints for our deli counter and retail shelves. Operating 24/7, our 17 high-speed lines produce 320 tonnes of product a week! Every day, nine vehicles set off to our stores and distribution centres full of 35,000 cases.
