The Health & Safety Manager will lead on Health & Safety and Fire Safety within McColls and Morrisons stores and sites supporting our stores and sites to uphold all elements of Health, Safety & legality.
You’ll ensure the safety of our customers and colleagues as well as the legality of our Brand. You’ll work with internal and external stakeholders to meet objectives and drive improvements in compliance.
Some of your responsibilities will include:

Provide a Health & Safety management service to retail to ensure safety is paramount

Proactively build engagement with the senior teams, to provide information and trends which identify key concerns and to offer solutions for improvement

Work with stakeholders to manage EHO’s, HSE and Fire Officer activity, arrange for any necessary support, disseminate information and liaise to reach a satisfactory conclusion

Use a partnership approach in order to coach retail in the required safety standards/ general good practice

Devise Health & Safety and Fire Safety training, working in partnership with the Training Team.

Proactively identify any training requirements and develop

Manage serious accident investigations and liaise with legal as required

Provide audit and investigation reports, in a clear and consistent format

Manage the health & Safety management system and relevant documentation and records

Review trends and other data to proactively identify where improvements can be made and work with Stakeholders to implement

Support the retail audit programme, contributing to audit protocols to ensure stores are diligently assessed against relevant criteria and that the root cause of under-performance is resolved.

Manage Whistleblower complaints through to a satisfactory conclusion, providing a professional investigation and involving other colleagues as needed and providing a professional Investigation of Whistleblower cases until a satisfactory conclusion is reached
This is a hybrid role with frequent travel nationally. This role is based at our fantastic head office in Bradford. Boasting an on-site restaurant, coffee shop, convenience and sample store, prayer room, free parking and regular company-wide events and promotions. Ideally, applicants will live within a reasonable distance of our office.
